I get a kind of PI plus Eternal Sunshine plus A Beautiful Mind feel from it.

Yeah, that looks good. Michael Rapaport was also in Comic Book Villians, which makes me wonder if he's a Marvel or DC fan. I'm hoping Marvel, because, well.....he's Michael Rapaport
